Nora Kirkpatrick
Best Comedy
In the past five years, Nora has created and/or written series for Amazon, Hulu, Comedy Central, and CBS, directing TV series for ABC, Hulu and FunnyOrDie. In 2020, she became the first woman ever to direct a campaign for Bud Light.
She is currently a writer on two new Amazon series. DAISY JONES AND THE SIX, produced by Reese Witherspoon, and RODEO QUEENS, the forthcoming series starring Dakota Johnson. Recently, Nora created and directed a fifteen-episode murder mystery, THE COOP, for Eko and FunnyOrDie, guest starring Tony Hale, Bobby Moynihan and Margaret Cho, that is currently airing. Previous to that, she sold her TV show, ASSISTED LIVING, to CBS, which was produced by Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum. Her half-hour, BEST SELLER, produced by Olivia Wilde, sold to Comedy Central, and she created and directed DOOR NO. 1, a first of its kind live-action VR comedy series, starring Snoop Dogg and Ravi Patel, for Hulu. In 2020, her first play, IN THE WOODS, was published in The Wax Paper.
Nora recently directed a pilot, ROYALTIES, starring Emmy and Golden Globe winner Darren Criss, and an episode in the seventh season of THE GOLDBERGS on ABC. Nora has also played many roles in film and TV, including THE OFFICE, GREEK, and JENNIFER FALLS. She is a Davey Grant recipient, was chosen as a fellow of the 2018 Sony Diversity Directing Program, and was a founding member and accordion player for the band EDWARD SHARPE AND THE MAGNETIC ZEROS, with whom she toured for seven years, winning a GRAMMY, and playing Letterman, Conan, Kimmel, Coachella, and Lallapalooza among others. Her short films have played over fifty film festivals all over the world garnering many awards, including Best Female Director at the Prague International Film Festival (2020), a Vimeo Staff Pick, and the Grand Jury Prize at The San Diego Film Festival, Sioux City Film Festival and the Femme Filmmakers Festival.
